I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. My practice focuses on hip and knee conditions, with particular expertise in primary and revision joint replacement.
I work in both the NHS (South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust) and privately at Kingsbridge Private Hospital.
My goal is for you to leave consultations feeling informed and in control, whatever you ultimately decide.

How I work with patients
I believe patients deserve clear, honest information. Many people come to me after months or years of pain and conflicting advice. My role is to cut through that uncertainty.
I use evidence from large national registries and high-quality studies to guide implant selection and surgical technique. Proven, durable solutions are almost always preferable to the newest or most marketed option.
Every decision is made together. I want you to understand your imaging, the natural history of your condition, and the realistic benefits and risks of each pathway — including doing nothing or continuing non-operative treatment.
Surgery, when it is the right choice, is only one part of the journey. I work closely with physiotherapy and rehabilitation teams to support the best possible recovery.
